Wisp of the Water - Canal Boat Club's Latest Edition to the Fleet

Wisp of the Water

"We have just returned from a great week onboard Wisp of the Water (from Worcester Marina) and wanted to take the opportunity to say how absolutely delighted we were with the new boat design"

M & J Williamson

Welcome to The Canal Boat Club!

The Canal Boat Club fleet is operated out of our various marinas located throughout the county.

As a member of Canal Boat Club, you can book live online using your membership details. If you are not a member yet and would like to be, why not check out our sales page.

If you own at another resort and are a member of RCI and wish to book or have already booked with us, please contact RCI with any queries regarding availability and booking. If you need to contact the marina to tell them of your time of arrival, please click on the appropriate marina link at the bottom of this page where you will find the telephone numbers and directions of how to get there plus routes that can be achieved on your holiday.

The whole philosophy and purpose running through the Canal Boat Club is to provide Timesharers with something different, something dynamic and something memorable.

This is not a sun, sea, sand and swimming pool holiday. This is a holiday which some have even suggested is about time travel!

One thing for sure is that on a narrowboat holiday, you slowwwww right down. This is your escape from fast cars, the busy roads, overflowing shopping centres and the ubiquitous PC. Instead you experience the wonders and great heritage of the waterways. Mother Nature goes about her business as the days and the seasons change. Those incomparable and hospitable canalside pubs. Fellow boaters passing the time of day. All of this at only 2 - 3 miles per hour! It really is a different world.

Want to hire one of these canal boats?
Why not visit the uk canal boating holidays rental site where we have boats to rent throughout the ABC Leisure Group fleet. (Canal Boat Club members should email us for a member's discount of up to 25% off these prices - offer is for selected boats only) Please note that utility fees are included in the rental prices. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or offer.

9th July update

Please read the following safety advice about your holiday here

11th June update

We are delighted to announce that following yesterday’s announcement we are now able to operate from the 4th July in England.

11th June update

As we have indicated with our previous updates below, as government restrictions are easing we hope to be able to provide holidays from 4th July, however we realise that not all guests will be able to, or want to come for their Boating holiday in 2020 because of government restrictions or shielding etc.

So the current options will be available for all bookings during 2020: The options are:

1) book one of the ABC holiday cottages during 2020 or 2021- www.abcholidaycottages.com- but bookings via our office

2) deposit a week with one of the exchange companies like RCI or Dial an exchange to use at a later date

3) book a week or 2 in 2021 in an apartment on the Costa Del Sol or a Hotel in the UK through a Holiday club we have an affiliation with see link https://www.canalboatclub.com/additional_member_benefits.html

4) Book a Canalboat for later on in 2020 or you can take 2 Canalboating holidays in 2021 (using your 2020 allocation and your 2021 allocation):
a) this opens up longer distances and cruising rings for you
b) or take the family and have 2 boats for the same week
c) or try and rent out one week and use the other

5) If you cannot take 2 holidays in 2021 using your 2020 and 2021 allocations, we can be flexible and let you use your 2021 allocation in 2022

6) ABC HIRE BOATS SAVINGS : Book one of the hundreds of ABC Hire boats at 16 locations throughout the UK including Scotland, South Wales, Lancashire and the Fens in Cambridgeshire. Many boats to sleep 4-12 people so take the rest of the family. You get 25% off their hire charges and the credit of your Annual Management fees (not Boatfund) against the cost of the hire charge

Please do not phone the office but email at [email protected]

4th June update

We are working on the assumption that all holidays are possible from 4th July in line with the governments announcement. Marinas are slowly beginning to reopen during June , getting the boats ready.

Once we can facilitate your holiday, we have implemented a series of changes to protect both you and our teams. Cleaning products have been switched to use detergents specifically tested against Covid-19. We will be implementing social distancing where possible and using PPE to mitigate the risk where it is not. This includes limiting the number of people in the reception areas.

If you have a booking for dates up to 4th July and have not yet contacted us to change this, please do not phone the office but email at [email protected]

The options are:
1) book one of the ABC holiday cottages during 2020 or 2021- www.abcholidaycottages.com- but bookings via our office
2) deposit a week with one of the exchange companies like RCI or Dial an exchange to use at a later date
3) book a week or 2 in 2021 in an apartment on the Costa Del Sol or a Hotel in the UK through a Holiday club we have an affiliation with
4) Book a Canalboat for later on in 2020 or you can take 2 Canalboating holidays in 2021 (using your 2020 allocation and your 2021 allocation):
a) this opens up longer distances and cruising rings for you
b) or take the family and have 2 boats for the same week
c) or try and rent out one week and use the other
5) If you cannot take 2 holidays in 2021 using your 2020 and 2021 allocations, we can be flexible and let you use your 2021 allocation in 2022

13th May update

There is a small possibility that self catering holidays may be possible from June, with Hotels, pubs, restaurants and other accommodation from July, but June is only a small possibility at the moment.

Therefore if you have a booking with us for May or June you can change it to another date in 2020 or 2021. Even if you change the date and find that the Marina is open for your original date, we can change it back if you wish, if its still available.

You can take 2 Canalboating holidays in 2021 (using your 2020 allocation and your 2021 allocation) -
a) this opens up longer distances and cruising rings for you
b) or take the family and have 2 boats for the same week
c) or try and rent out one week and use the other
d) or deposit a week with one of the exchange companies like RCI or Dial an exchange to use at a later date
e) or book one of the ABC holiday cottages- wwwabcholidaycottages.com- but bookings via our office
f) or book a week or 2 in an apartment on the Costa Del Sol or a Hotel in the UK through a Holiday club we have an affiliation with .

If you cannot take 2 holidays in 2021 using your 2020 and 2021 allocations, we can be flexible and let you use your 2021 allocation in 2022.

We will always take government advice, but anticipate that all holidays from July onwards will go ahead, if not from June.

Indeed, our Waterways remain a great option for those looking for time in the fresh air thats away from the hustle & bustle of crowded environments, or as places to visit whilst foreign holidays are restricted.

Please do not telephone this office just email us at [email protected] and we can check availability for you.

30th April update

Holidays from 1st June:

For all Canalboat Club boating holidays from 1st June 2020 you are welcome to change the date to another date in 2020 at any time right up to the date of travel.

If government guidelines prohibit us providing holidays or from you from using the boat then the options below will apply for holidays from 1st June.

OPTIONS

1) Transfer your booking to a later date during 2020

2) Transfer your booking to 2021 and have 2 weeks allocations in 2021( either 2 separate weeks or 2 weeks together so you can cruise for longer distances, perhaps doing a cruising ring, or 2 allocations for the same week and invite friends or family and have 2 boats)

Please do not contact us to change your 2020 booking to 2021 if your booking is after 1st June at this time but wait for further updates on this website to see if your holiday can take place.

You are welcome to email us to change to a later date in 2020 at any time.

Update 21st April 2020

At this point we are hoping the Government advice will allow bookings in late May onwards to go ahead but if the current situation remains these will be your options:

1) Transfer your booking to a later date during 2020

2) Transfer your booking to 2021 and have 2 weeks allocations in 2021( either 2 separate weeks or 2 weeks together so you can cruise for longer distances, perhaps doing a cruising ring, or 2 allocations for the same week and invite friends or family and have 2 boats)

You are welcome to leave this booking as it is for the moment and we can review it at any time up to the travel date , or you can change the dates now if you wish, you will not lose your holiday.

If you have asked us to try and rent out your Canalboat club week and government restrictions do not allow travel for the rental week the above options will apply.

Also if the government travel restrictions are only lifted 4 weeks before your rental week and your week does not rent out, we will choose another week for you either in 2020 or 2021 and try and rent that out instead. You are welcome to change your week to another date in 2020 now or leave it as it is to see what happens.

If you do contact us can you please e mail as the phone lines are not monitored, you will not be able to cancel your 2020 allocation online, this can only be done by this office.

Following clarification from the Government yesterday (22nd March 2020), we do not feel we are able to continue to offer holidays at this time.

We are in the process of contacting all of our existing guests due to travel between 23rd March 2020 and the end of May 2020 offering a deferment until later in the year, or 2021.

For those of you who have holidays booked for the 1st of June 2020 onwards, please keep checking this website as we are reviewing the government advice as it is updated. Please do not telephone the office but use the email method if possible
